It leads to increased tooth wear, a heavy strain on the periodontium, the muscles and the temporomandibular joint. It can even lead to severe pain syndromes and ringing in the ears (tinnitus), which is then referred to as craniomandibular dysfunction (CMD).  <\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\">To stop the wear of the teeth, a bite splint can be made, which also leads to a relaxation of the muscles and the jaw joints.
