Si a\u00fan quedan dientes de anclaje, la dentadura puede fijarse a los dientes restantes utilizando distintos elementos de anclaje. En la versi\u00f3n m\u00e1s sencilla, la pr\u00f3tesis removible se fija con simples ganchos curvos. Este tipo de pr\u00f3tesis se denomina pr\u00f3tesis provisional y normalmente s\u00f3lo se considera una pr\u00f3tesis temporal hasta que se fabrica la pr\u00f3tesis definitiva.<\/p>\n<p>Como elementos de anclaje para las pr\u00f3tesis permanentes se dispone de ganchos de colado, coronas telesc\u00f3picas (coronas dobles) y coronas de fijaci\u00f3n. A veces se eligen combinaciones de elementos de anclaje. La ventaja de las grapas moldeadas es que s\u00f3lo hay que tallar peque\u00f1as superposiciones en los dientes. Sin embargo, la sujeci\u00f3n no es ideal cuando se ancla s\u00f3lo con grapas de fundici\u00f3n. Con las coronas telesc\u00f3picas, los dientes reciben coronas que se fijan a los dientes. Las pr\u00f3tesis removibles contienen coronas secundarias que encajan exactamente en las coronas primarias y las cubren cuando se colocan las pr\u00f3tesis. Las coronas de fijaci\u00f3n tienen un elemento de anclaje dirigido hacia la cavidad oral, que puede ser circular o en forma de barra. Los elementos de anclaje adecuados los decide el dentista en colaboraci\u00f3n con el laboratorio. Las pr\u00f3tesis removibles pueden utilizarse para recuperar la capacidad masticatoria y un aspecto est\u00e9tico. Sin embargo, se cubren partes del paladar y de la cresta alveolar, lo que puede alterar el sentido del
